Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Junior Environmental Planner (Planner I) for our Vancouver, WA location to support environmental review, permitting, and regulatory project tasks.
Who You Are: You are an early-career environmental planning professional who can conduct environmental project details efficiently, effectively, ensuring project details are accomplished on time and on budget in accordance with project goals. You are familiar with basic environmental regulations, including NEPA, ESA, wetlands regulations, and related federal, state, and agency compliance requirements. You have the ability to effectively conduct desktop research, support field data collection and summarize findings. You can effectively analyze documents and scientific data and prepare basic technical memos and summary tables. You communicate confidently with clients, regulatory agencies, project partners, and internal teams, and are comfortable supporting meetings and presenting project updates. Proactive and solutions-oriented, you identify potential challenges early and coordinate with senior staff to resolve them. You work effectively both independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism with clients, partners, and colleagues.
What We Offer
• Competitive Salary: A candidate selected at the Junior Environmental Planner (Planner I) level can expect a salary between $47,000 and $61,000 (adjusted based on experience).
• Schedule & Work Environment: Typical work hours are Monday through Friday between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Hybrid arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis after demonstrated performance and technical competency. Remote work is not typically available at the Planner I level.

We require:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Law or Management, Ecology, Environmental or Urban/Land Use Planning, Natural Resources (e.g., Biology, Fisheries, Hydrology), Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in hydroelectric licensing/relicensing, permitting, renewable energy, environmental compliance, and/or environmental regulatory review.
• Valid drivers’ license and access to reliable transportation or the ability to rent a vehicle to travel to work sites and client meetings, as an essential function of the position.
