Camas, LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Planner (Planner III) in Vancouver, WA, to lead environmental review and permitting for complex projects. Position Summary: We are currently seeking an Environmental Planner (Planner III) for our Vancouver, WA location to lead environmental review, permitting, and regulatory compliance efforts for complex projects, including hydroelectric licensing, renewable energy, and environmental permitting. This role manages multiple projects, prepares high-quality environmental documentation, and serves as a key point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development.

Who You Are: You are an experienced environmental planning professional who can independently manage projects, clients, and environmental documentation from start to finish. You have strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, ESA, wetlands regulations, and related federal, state, and agency compliance requirements. A clear and effective technical writer, you produce high-quality environmental documentation (such as CEs, EAs, EIS/EIRs, permits, and technical memoranda) that meets regulatory standards and requires minimal editing. Organized and detail-oriented, you successfully manage multiple projects or complex tasks while balancing scope, schedule, and budget. You communicate confidently with clients, regulatory agencies, project partners, and internal teams, and are comfortable leading meetings and presenting project updates. Proactive and solutions-oriented, you identify potential challenges early and coordinate with senior staff to resolve them. You enjoy mentoring junior staff and helping strengthen team writing and technical skills, and you work effectively both independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism with clients, partners, and colleagues.

What We Offer:
• Competitive Salary: A candidate selected at the Environmental Planner (Planner III) level can expect a salary between $80,000 and $100,000 (adjusted based on experience).
• Schedule & Work Environment:
• Typical work hours are Monday through Friday between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Hybrid arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis after demonstrated performance and technical competency. Remote work is not typically available at the Planner III level.

Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Law or Management, Ecology, Environmental or Urban/Land Use Planning, Natural Resources (e.g., Biology, Fisheries, Hydrology), Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in hydroelectric licensing/relicensing, permitting, renewable energy, environmental compliance, and/or environmental regulatory review, with subject matter expertise. Experience supporting federal hydropower license applications and preparing state and federal environmental permits required. Demonstrated ability to analyze and summarize environmental, scientific, and engineering data; prepare technical reports and presentations; and coordinate meetings with resource agencies, contractors, and regulatory professionals.
• Valid drivers’ license and access to reliable transportation or the ability to rent a vehicle to travel to work sites and client meetings, as an essential function of the position.
