The Environmental Planner / Project Manager will play a crucial role in our Northern California office locations—Oakland, San Francisco, Petaluma, Sacramento, or San Jose. This position involves leading multi-faceted analyses and evaluations related to environmental compliance for water resources projects. We seek a proactive team member with at least five years of professional experience dedicated to collaboration, delivery, and client service. Our Water Practice focuses on water-related projects, including water supply, flood protection, wastewater, and recycled water, while helping clients complete plans and projects that positively impact water resources throughout California.

Skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental planning, policy, science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in environmental compliance evaluations and assessments
• Proficient in preparing clear and concise documents
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and interdisciplinary teams
• Experience in water resources projects and knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations

Responsibilities
• Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, or task manager for CEQA and NEPA documents
• Coordinate project delivery schedules and logistics
• Assist with budget tracking and invoicing
• Lead client meetings and present complex information effectively
• Mentor junior staff and provide constructive feedback
• Manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental planning and project management
• Demonstrated success in leading environmental projects, particularly related to water resources
• Effective team member with problem-solving skills
• Ability to mentor and guide junior staff
