Environmental Planner / Visual Resources Specialist
Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Visual Resources Specialist to support our growing visual impact assessment and visualization services in the eastern United States. You will be an integral part of our team, with responsibility for project planning, impact assessment / technical analysis, and task coordination.
Key Responsibilities
• As a Visual Resources Specialist, you will work under the direction of Stantec's Visual Resources Practice Lead for the eastern U.S., applying your experience in technical writing and production of visual impact assessments (VIA): site photography, task coordination, and creation of photo realistic simulations.
• This position requires a strong writer and organized task manager who can coordinate contributions from a technically diverse team.
• An ability to travel (typically no more than 10-20% annually) for project site visits is required of this role.
• Your work as a Visual Resources Specialist may be supplemented with assignments providing general planning and permitting support for power generation and transmission siting and licensing projects or other environmental assessments.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
• 3 to 5 years of experience producing or substantially supporting the completion of VIAs.
• VIAs that have been conducted within the context of compliance with state or federal environmental review criteria.
• Strong research, analysis, and reporting ability, with strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to support multiple projects, focusing on details while also managing a broader set of components.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience producing VIAs required by the National Environmental Policy Act, State Environmental Quality Reviews, Article VII of the New York State Public Service Law, and Article 10 and Section 94-c applications.
• Familiarity with federal agencies and their established methods for assessment of visual effects or impacts to scenery.
• Experience / training in DSLR cameras, Autodesk 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

This role requires a mix of jobsite and office functions, with travel required for project site visits.
