Job Description

NewAge Industries, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Monitoring Technician in Churchville, PA. The role involves environmental and utilities monitoring, product inspections, and maintaining cleanroom standards in an ISO Class 7/8 facility. Responsibilities include operating monitoring equipment, data trending, and ensuring compliance with quality regulations. Candidates should have an Associate's degree or relevant experience and possess strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Summary:
The Quality Environmental Monitoring Technician will be responsible for performing functions including environmental monitoring, utilities monitoring, and testing in a non-sterile facility that manufacturers sterile products in an ISO Class 7/8 cleanroom system. The EM Technician will also be involved with product inspections. All tasks will be under the supervision of the Quality management team.

Duties and Responsibilities Include But are Not Limited To:
• Conduct environmental monitoring (non-viable particulates, air viable, surface viable, temperatures etc.) in a cleanroom environments within the manufacturing area
• Operate monitoring equipment that includes but is not limited to Laser Particle Counter(s), Viable Air Sampler, and Viable Surface Sampling
• Monitor temperature and humidity of cleanroom(s)
• Collect water samples throughout the manufacturing facility
• Responsible for notification and re-testing of alert and action levels
• Respond to cleanroom emergencies on short notice, this could include nights, weekends or holidays
• Must be well versed in cleanroom standards and best practices, ISO 14644, EU
• Maintain documentation in accordance with GDP
• Assist in maintaining the gamma sterility program based on ISO 11137
• Trend environmental data using statistical software
• Incubate and analysis viable environmental monitoring samples
• General lab support including housekeeping, schedule equipment maintenance/calibration, inventory of supplies, etc.
• Suggest and implement corrective actions to environmental trends
• Perform incoming, in-process and final inspection of product and vendor supplied components
• Support a culture of continuous improvements
Knowledge and Skills:
• Self-starter that takes imitative to perform work with minimal supervision
• Pays attention to detail and ensures high quality work
• Effective communication with co-workers and supervisors
• Possesses a good understanding of current quality control GMP regulations
Education and Experience:
• Associates Degree in Biology, Microbiology, life sciences or 2 years of experience working in a regulated quality environment. Bachelors' degree in biology, microbiology or life sciences preferred.
• Experience with Minitab, Microsoft Office, SAS 180, Apex-PF, NAV

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
