Are you passionate about environmental protection and noise regulation? Do you have the leadership skills to guide a team while making a real impact? We’re looking for a strategic, skilled, and dynamic Manager to join our team and lead the charge in enforcing noise regulations and providing expert technical advice.
As the Environmental Manager-Noise, you will be responsible for administering the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 and the noise provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, resolving complex issues, and streamlining operational procedures. You’ll assess noise regulation exemptions, approvals, and reports, ensuring timely and accurate decisions. In addition, you will provide expert technical advice to both internal and external stakeholders, including local government and agencies, while leading the development, maintenance, and sharing of expertise to improve knowledge and capabilities across the department. You’ll also uphold equity, diversity, inclusion, and safety in every aspect of your role, demonstrating leadership behaviours and inspiring a team of leaders.
At DWER, we see every employee as a leader, driving our success and shaping our culture. We’re looking for someone who embodies our values: serving to make a difference, building trust, caring, keeping open minds, and working better together.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong ability to apply legislation and policy to support organisational goals. You’ll need to be skilled in analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making to deliver practical solutions, as well as communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The ability to meet high standards and deliver results within required timeframes is key, along with the capacity to manage and develop both yourself and others while championing change.
A Bachelor of Science, Engineering or an approved equivalent is required. Please note that a national police check will be conducted prior to employment.
At DWER, we value leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to safety. If you’re ready to make an impact and play a key role in ensuring a safe and sustainable future, we encourage you to apply today and help us create a better tomorrow.

We are committed to creating an equitable and diverse workforce that promotes an inclusive and supportive workplace environment. We value the unique diversity of experience that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, women and youth bring to our workforce.
