Antea Group USA is hiring an Environmental Project Manager for their Greater New England office in Connecticut or Massachusetts. The role involves managing environmental projects, site assessments, and remediation efforts, requiring strong technical and interpersonal skills. Candidates should have at least five years of environmental consulting experience and relevant educational qualifications. The position offers a hybrid work environment with some remote flexibility, but regular office attendance is expected.
Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is seeking an Environmental Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to be associated with our Greater New England office in either our Middletown, CT or Framingham, MA locations.
The ideal candidate will possess environmental site assessment and remediation project execution and management experience. Experience with environmental due diligence assessments surrounding property transactions is a plus. The position is structured for someone with technical experience and expertise and will combine technical, financial, and interpersonal management skills while leading and working within an interdisciplinary team of environmental and health and safety specialists.
Where Will I Work?
This position will be based out of our Greater New England Office, which includes locations in Middletown, CT, and Framingham, MA with the flexibility to work remotely as assignments allow. In this hybrid work environment, it is expected that this position will report to the office regularly and as requested for in‑person meetings, mentorship, and leadership and collaboration with other team members. Although minimal, some project work could require local, regional, and/or overnight travel for large project kick‑offs or as required for emergency response.
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited to:
• Manage environmental projects, site characterization, remedial designs, and preparation of reports and other related documentation.
• Experience with MassDEP and CTDEEP regulations and a good working relationship with regulators is valued.
• Experience aggressively diving sites to closure by leveraging field teams and senior technical resources, and advocacy with regulators.
• Perform, plan, coordinate, oversee project work, and lead project teams involving site investigation, risk assessment and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments with moderate to complex technical/regulatory issues.
• Evaluate remedial alternatives and assist clients to develop and negotiate cost‑effective closure strategies with regulatory agencies.
• Direct management of two to three people. These accountabilities are not project‑related, but rather to help grow the person’s career and connect them with opportunities that may or may not include your own project work.
Education and Training:
• A degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field is required.
• Five years or more of environmental consulting experience is required.
• Possession of, or willingness to obtain, Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional and/or Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional certification(s) is a plus.
• Professional Geologist license is a plus.
• 40‑hour HAZWOPER training is required (and can be provided for the right candidate).
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification a plus.
Desired Experience:
• Experience in executing and managing environmental site assessment and remediation projects.
• Experience in project team leadership and personnel management and development.
• Experience in environmental due diligence (ASTM Phase I/II) project execution and management is a plus.
Fundamental Skill Set:
• Ability to simultaneously multi‑task within multiple projects and project teams.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively produce results.
• Experience navigating the Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) and/or Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP).
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills, particularly proficient in technical writing with attention to detail.
• Ability to delegate to and mentor junior team members to aid in their professional development.
• Ability to evaluate, establish, and communicate project scope, schedule, and budget, and hold self and project teams accountable for meeting these matrices.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre‑employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety‑sensitive roles). They must also have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
• Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work).
• Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25‑49lbs) weight objects.
• Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching).
• Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change).
• Operation of a motor vehicle.
Additionally, if you completing client meetings or client project site visits you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness‑for‑duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
• Medium to heavy work.
• Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
• Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward) and climbing.
• Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate and possibly heavy weight objects.
• Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling.
• May be required to wear an air purifying respirator.
Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant’s job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
