Job Description

Stryten Energy is seeking an Environmental Manager in Nebraska City, NE, responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing interactions with regulatory agencies, overseeing landfill operations, and training staff on environmental matters. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences and at least 10 years of relevant experience. The position requires physical activity and the use of various office equipment.
Environmental Compliance Specialist
Responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations involving air (Title V permit), water, and Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA).
• Maintain interactions with regulatory agencies to ensure ongoing compliance, including changes to processes or the addition of new processes at the facility.
• Stay current on all new Environmental regulations impacting the facility.
• Promote positive relationships with State and EPA agencies, ensuring accurate and timely completion of regulatory reports.
• Manage databases, log sheets, and related documentation, guaranteeing accuracy and proper filing.
• Oversee payment of fees, fines, and permitting requirements.
• Update Environmental procedures in line with changing permits and regulations.
• Stay up-to-date with new regulations and regulatory developments.
• Monitor emissions for permitting purposes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise landfill operations and monitoring activities.
• Oversee Solid Waste Management.
• Keep the Plant Manager informed about Environmental activities.
• Develop and train all employees and Supervisors on Environmental matters.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Management.
• At least 10 years' experience in Environmental management, with a working knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on the environment.
• Previous experience with regulations under Clean Air Act- National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS); Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)- Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDF) Part B permit, and Large Quantity generator requirements; and Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know (EPCRA); Clean Water Act- National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
• Experience managing facility operations and overseeing Environmental compliance programs.
• Heavy industrial experience an asset.

Physical Requirements:
• Able to perform continuous walking, standing, and lifting.

Equipment Used:
• PC with various software, office equipment.
• Personal protective equipment as required.
