Job Description
Alignerr is hiring an Environmental Management Scientist (AI Training) to leverage expertise in sustainability and environmental decision-making to enhance AI understanding of these topics. This fully remote, flexible contract role requires 3+ years of experience in environmental management. Responsibilities include evaluating AI-generated scenarios, providing structured feedback, and working independently on a task-based schedule. The position offers hourly pay and the potential for ongoing work.
About The Role
We're looking for experienced environmental management professionals to help shape the next generation of AI. Your real-world expertise in sustainability, land-use planning, and environmental decision-making will directly influence how AI understands and communicates these critical topics.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role — work on your own schedule while contributing to cutting-edge AI development.

What You'll Do
Review and evaluate AI-generated environmental management scenarios, analyses, and recommendationsAssess the quality of AI reasoning related to sustainability, impact mitigation, and resource planningIdentify gaps between theoretical frameworks and real-world environmental practiceProvide clear, structured feedback to improve the accuracy and applicability of AI outputsWork independently and asynchronously to complete task-based assignments on your own schedule
Who You Are
3+ years of hands-on experience in environmental management, conservation, or a closely related fieldStrong working knowledge of sustainability frameworks, environmental planning, and impact assessmentAble to critically evaluate written environmental analyses for accuracy, depth, and practical relevanceSkilled at providing detailed, constructive, and well-organized feedbackSelf-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting
Nice to Have
Master's degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related disciplineExperience with environmental policy, regulatory compliance, or permitting frameworksFamiliarity with AI systems, content evaluation, or annotation workflows
