Job Description
Alignerr is seeking an Environmental Management Scientist to enhance AI's understanding of sustainability and environmental decision-making. This remote, flexible contract role involves reviewing AI-generated scenarios, assessing their accuracy, and providing structured feedback. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in environmental management and the ability to work independently. The position offers autonomy and the chance to impact AI projects related to environmental challenges.
About The Role We're looking for experienced environmental management professionals to help shape how AI understands sustainability, land-use planning, and environmental decision-making. Your real-world expertise will directly influence the quality and accuracy of AI systems used by researchers, planners, and organizations tackling some of the world's most pressing environmental challenges. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role — work on your own schedule while contributing to cutting-edge AI development.

Type: Hourly / Task-based Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Review and evaluate AI-generated environmental management scenarios, analyses, and recommendations
Assess the quality of AI reasoning related to sustainability frameworks, impact mitigation, and resource planning
Identify gaps between theoretical environmental models and real-world practice
Provide clear, structured feedback to improve the accuracy, depth, and applicability of AI outputs
Flag content that misrepresents environmental standards, regulations, or best practices
Work independently and asynchronously to complete task-based assignments on your own schedule Who You Are 3+ years of hands-on experience in environmental management, conservation, or a closely related field
Strong working knowledge of sustainability frameworks, environmental impact assessment, and land-use planning
Able to critically evaluate written environmental analyses for scientific accuracy and practical relevance
Skilled at providing detailed, constructive, and well-structured written feedback
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting
No prior AI experience required — your domain expertise is what matters Nice to Have Master's degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
Experience with environmental policy, regulatory compliance, or permitting frameworks
Background in conservation planning, ecological restoration, or natural resource management
