Job Description

gpac is seeking an Environmental Litigation Attorney for a prestigious law firm in Manhattan Beach, CA. Candidates should have a J.D., CA Bar membership, and at least 5 years of experience in environmental law, particularly with PFAS cases. Responsibilities include managing PFAS contamination cases, conducting legal research, and collaborating with experts. The role offers a supportive work environment and the flexibility to work remotely or from the office.
I am Partnered with a prestigious law firm that is looking to add an attorney to their Environmental Litigation Group.

Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Member in good standing of the State Bar of California
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental law, toxic torts, or related plaintiff-side litigation (PFAS strongly preferred)
• Prior experience with class action or mass tort litigation related to toxic substances
• Proven track record in litigation and trial, with experience in complex cases involving multiple plaintiffs or high-profile environmental issues
• Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., EPA standards, CERCLA, TSCA) related to PFAS
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage PFAS contamination cases from intake through resolution, including all aspects of discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and develop case strategies tailored to PFAS litigation, including assessing liability, determining damages, and identifying responsible parties.
• Independently attend court hearings
• Collaborate with expert witnesses, consultants, and investigators to gather and analyze evidence, including scientific studies, environmental reports, and medical records, to substantiate claims
• Independently draft complaints, discovery, and critical motions
• Work on and assist in trial preparations
• Stay informed of federal and state regulations related to PFAS and actively support initiatives to strengthen protections for affected communities
