Environmental Law Associate (3-6 yrs)

Fredrikson & Byron is seeking an Environmental Law Associate with 3-6 years of experience to support their environmental practice in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves advising on federal environmental laws and compliance, with a preference for candidates familiar with Minnesota or Wisconsin regulations. Overview:

We are seeking an associate with 3-6 years of experience to support Fredrikson’s growing environmental practice on a wide range of environmental regulatory compliance, enforcement and litigation, brownfield redevelopment, and real property and M&A transactional matters.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience advising on matters involving federal environmental laws as well as experience or strong interest in matters involving Minnesota or Wisconsin environmental regulatory programs. Given the makeup of Fredrikson’s environmental group and Fredrikson’s client base, substantive experience in both environmental regulatory compliance and transactional matters is a plus.

We will consider candidates interested in working from our Madison or Minneapolis offices.

Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:
• 3-6 years of experience with federal environmental laws and regulations as well as experience with or demonstrated interest in environmental regulatory programs in Minnesota or Wisconsin
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, research, oral communication and writing skills
• Strong academic background
• J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to be promptly admitted in the state of Minnesota

The salary range for this position varies by geographical market. In Minneapolis, the estimated starting annual pay range is $210,000 - $250,000 / year. The compensation offered will be dependent on the candidate’s experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
