Job Description
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to provide strategic environmental support and guidance on regulatory requirements, monitoring, and reporting. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing management programs, and collaborating with stakeholders. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree and over 5 years of experience in environmental compliance. This is a full-time position based in Idaho Falls, ID, with a salary range of ₹7.5M–₹9M a year.
INL Environmental Health Specialist
INL's Environmental Management Directorate has an immediate opening for an Environmental Health Specialist. This position will provide strategic environmental support and guidance to INL senior management, project managers, and other key personnel on environmental regulatory requirements, environmental monitoring, and environmental reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide environmental regulatory expertise and guidance to INL senior management, project managers, and other key personnel
- Assist with the development and implementation of INL's environmental management programs, policies, and procedures
- Conduct environmental assessments and audits to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations
- Develop and maintain INL's environmental monitoring programs, including air, water, and soil monitoring
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports and permit applications to regulatory agencies
- Provide training and support to INL personnel on environmental regulatory requirements and best management practices
- Collaborate with other INL organizations and external stakeholders to identify and address environmental issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting
- Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA
- Proficient in the use of environmental monitoring equipment and data analysis software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
