Russell Tobin is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist for a 12-month contract role in Maplewood, MN. The position involves leading EHS risk assessments, managing hazardous waste, conducting inspections, and maintaining communication within the EHS team. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and 2-3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in chemistry. The role offers a pay rate of $24.00 - $28.50 per hour.
Russell Tobin is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.

Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Location: Maplewood, MN (on-site)

Job Type: Contract

Length: 12-Months (with potential for extension)

Hours: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $28.50 per hour

Responsibilities:
• MOC (management of change): Lead EHS risk assessments including escalating to additional subject matter experts as needed
• Share information with researchers about the MOC process such as when an MOC is require, how to initiate one and what information is relevant.
• Initiate, follow up, and complete incident documentation in a timely manner; lead root cause investigations, and document measures taken to prevent reoccurrence; provide updates to stakeholders regarding causal analysis and corrective actions
• Serve as Hazardous Waste Coordinator including updating waste stream profiles for new materials, planning for lab clean-out days, and connecting researchers with guidance for miscellaneous waste types.
• Lead routine EHS inspections
• Track EHS activities such as action items and pending approvals
• Maintain active communication channels within EHS team and with researchers
• Share information with applicable team members including escalation of issues, sharing successes and noticed trends.
• Resource will support mostly support office functions for incidents, assessments, documentation.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or higher (ideal discipline; technical/science/engineering)

Requirements:
• 2-3+ years of experience in R&D settings or EHS roles.
• Ideal background in chemistry.
• Willingness to learn risk assessment processes and databases/tools
• Strong communication skills
