Atlas Roofing Corporation is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Leader for its Tupelo, MS location. The role involves leading safety initiatives, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. About Atlas Roofing Corporation: Established in 1982, we are a privately owned, international manufacturer of roofing, sheathing, facer, and insulation product solutions.

We are currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Leader.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead plant safety initiatives, fostering a culture of safety at all levels.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA standards while identifying and mitigating unsafe practices.
• Investigate accidents and injuries, collaborating with the HR Manager to document results and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive records related to safety and environmental programs, including SDS and waste documentation.
• Coordinate with corporate safety and environmental teams to address compliance matters and deadlines promptly.
• Provide technical support and insights to management and staff on safety and environmental concerns.
• Oversee the Employee Personal Protection Equipment Program, assisting in creating ergonomically safe workspaces.
• Collaborate with corporate resources to update and maintain environmental policies and procedures for the plant.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, staying informed of legislative changes that could impact operations.
• Act as the primary contact for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and TPM is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
• Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to provide timely information verbally and in writing.
• Self-starter who can anticipate needs and execute tasks without direction.
• Critical thinking skills to address issues and formulate effective solutions swiftly.
• Ability to perform advanced arithmetic, statistics, and algebra tasks.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting governmental regulations and procedures; effectively communicate with employees and various management levels.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred.
• OSHA 40 certification and any relevant environmental certifications as required by corporate standards.
