Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives. The intern will support the EHS department in maintaining a safe and environmentally compliant workplace while gaining valuable insights into EHS practices in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Safety Inspections and Audits:
• Assist in conducting regular workplace safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Data Collection and Reporting:
• Collect, analyze, and maintain data related to safety incidents, environmental compliance, and sustainability metrics.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Training Support:
• Help organize and deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees.
• Develop or update training materials as needed.
• Policy and Procedure Assistance:
• Review and update EHS policies, procedures, and manuals to align with current regulations and best practices.
• Participate in the development of new EHS programs.
• Incident Response and Investigations:
• Assist in the investigation of safety incidents, near-misses, and environmental non-conformances.
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Sustainability Initiatives:
• Support projects aimed at reducing waste, energy consumption, and the organization’s overall environmental footprint.
• Research and recommend sustainable practices or technologies.

Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Passion for workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with risk assessment techniques and EHS management systems.
• Previous internship or coursework related to EHS.

Hiring Range: $22.00 - $27.00.
