Job Description
Electric Hydrogen is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to work onsite in Devens, MA. The role involves identifying and addressing safety hazards in a manufacturing setting, managing safety compliance activities, and working with teams to ensure adherence to EHS protocols. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in environmental health and safety. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

We are looking for an EHS Engineer to join our team. You will find and address safety hazards in a manufacturing environment at a company focused on improving the electrolyzer industry by developing the most powerful electrolyzer on the market. You will work with diverse teams to ensure that safety procedures are followed and recognize and recommend additional control measures or corrective actions for any new environmental, health and safety concerns.
You will work onsite at our Devens, MA office and you will report to our EHS Manager.
Roles And Responsibilities
• Take ownership of safety compliance activities: accident and incident investigations with follow up corrective action tracking, risk assessments, Job Safety Observations, Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs), pre-startup safety reviews, and compliance training
• Understand and maintain Chemical Safety program and help administer the Hazard Communication Program, Chemical Hygiene Plan, Safety Data Sheets, Hazardous Material Business Plan, Waste Management Plan and Chemical Inventory
• Manage Hazardous Waste program per RCRA, including inspection of the hazardous waste storage areas to ensure all waste containers are maintained
• Help with monthly Safety Committee meetings to align with major partners on prioritizing and tracking the completion of a variety of safety projects
• Communicate with all manufacturing teams to track all corrective actions assigned to those teams, schedule new safety compliance activities, and address any EHS concerns or observations
• Administer and evaluate a complex function that complies with unique government regulations, best practices, and company guidelines
• Work with teams and manage EHS programs
• Maintain suitable records relating to all EHS matters, and update EHS program materials
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, or process safety engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems
• Sense of personal ownership for the safety of the team
• Experience developing process safety standards including leading PHA's
• Experience with EHS Management Systems
• Experience implementing strategic safety programs
• Experience with root cause analysis in safety and technical field
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and 4500

$77,000—$93,000 USD
Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
