POSITION SUMMARY
The primary role of this position is to provide environmental, health, safety, and security support to each Ortec facility. While heavily focused on Environmental and Waste Management, this role will also provide Safety and Security support as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complete required training in all areas of EHS compliance including but not limited to: RCRA, DOT, IATA, IMDG, Big Five (hot work, lockout tag out, confined space etc), emergency response, confined space rescue, first aid, forklift/manlift, respiratory protection, and behavioral based safety. Provide support for Ortec Corporate EHS programs by working with EHS Manager and Site EHS Analysts to ensure EHS continuity across the company Understand the basic principles of process safety management. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Pre Start-Up Safety Reviews. Assist Site EHS Analysts with any follow-up on corrective action items. Participate on the emergency response teams and maintain HAZWOPER refresher training Learn and comply with hazardous waste management requirements and assist other employees with proper storage and handling requirements. Learn and understand wastewater requirements for each Site. Perform weekly and monthly wastewater sampling at each site. Coordinate submission of samples to the 3rd party lab. Fill in for Environmental Manager and Site EHS Analysts, as needed. Assist Site EHS Analysts with tracking incidents, observations, and PEAK cards in corporate EHS tracking system. Participate in the weekly safety and environmental rounds to ensure sites maintain compliance with required items, create action logs in tracking systems to close gaps. Participate in EHS audits and regulatory inspections. Assist EHS and Site staff with completing corrective action items identified. Learn and understand the Corporate Industrial Hygiene and Hearing Conservation Programs. Assist with employee exposure monitoring of chemicals and noise, as needed. Assist Environmental Manager with completing weekly hazardous waste inspections at each Site and identifying corrective actions. Participate in Corporate EHS meetings and calls to ensure Site alignment with corporate goals. Attend professional development training, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma from an accredited institution
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a EHS support role in manufacturing environment
Ability to work in US without Company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in environmental, Health and Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences from an accredited institution
Experience working in a chemical production environment
