Jabil is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Technician for their Florence, KY facility. This on-site role involves conducting assessments, maintaining safety documentation, and training personnel on environmental and safety regulations. The position requires a high school diploma (or pursuing a related degree) and some experience in an EHS environment. Location
This position will be based 100% on-site at our Florence, KY facility.
Shift
12-HOUR NIGHT SHIFT
Expect to work a weekend shift, on a rotating schedule of 4 on/3 off and 3 on/4 off. Typical hours will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 PM to 6 AM, followed by a rotation into the next week.
How will you make an impact?
The Environmental Health and Safety Technician plays a crucial role in conducting assessments, inventories, and inspections to ensure compliance with various environmental and safety regulations.
What will you do?
• Utilize software programs for updating existing documents and creating new ones.
• Maintain critical data related to Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Hazard Communication (Hazcomm), Accident Reports, and corrective actions.
• Assist in or provide training sessions on environmental and safety-related topics for company personnel.
• Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal documentation.
• Keep organized files and record documentation as required by various agencies.
• Oversee and manage the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program.
• Contribute to the development of new programs and procedures as needed.
• Implement guidelines for continuous improvement within the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Manage the Ergonomics Program and perform workstation audits.
• Oversee the Fire Suppression and extinguisher inspection program.
• Participate in reviewing and refining the Emergency Response Program.
• Adhere to all safety and health regulations as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree in EHS or a related field is preferred (or currently pursuing such a degree).
Experience:
• Some experience working in an EHS environment (0-2+ years).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer skills, especially in reporting using EHSIP and other applications.
