Job Description

Sherwin-Williams is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Leader for their Fernley, NV manufacturing facility. The role involves overseeing EHS programs, conducting training, managing compliance, and promoting safety culture. Responsibilities include inspections, audits, and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies. The position requires flexibility for nights and weekends and involves some travel. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Leader to oversee our EHS programs and initiatives at our manufacturing facility. In this pivotal role, you will implement safety, health, and environmental excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and delivering engaging safety and health training programs to promote employee participation in safety efforts.
• Leading and coordinating all site EHS training activities.
• Supporting employee-led safety committees to enhance safety awareness.
• Managing our EHS Management System effectively.
• Conducting inspections, investigations, and analyses to mitigate risks and prevent environmental releases.
• Integrating risk control into daily operations to enhance safety measures.
• Maintaining accurate records for regulatory compliance and monitoring (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Generating timely reports and audits for management review and oversight.
• Creating action plans to achieve or maintain OSHA VPP STAR status.
• Overseeing compliance related to State Worker’s Compensation claims.
• Acting as the liaison between our facility and all Federal, State, and Local enforcement agencies.
• Promoting a positive safety culture by engaging proactively with employees and maintaining a robust floor presence.

This position requires flexibility to cover nights and weekends as needed in our 24/7 operation. You may also expect to travel up to 10% of the time.
