Job Description

U.S. Silica Company is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Leader in Gulfport, MS, to manage health, safety, and environmental programs at their plant. The role involves leading safety initiatives, conducting inspections, managing compliance documentation, and ensuring environmental protection protocols. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of experience in safety management. This is a full-time position.

Join Our Team! We are currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to manage and direct our plant's health, safety, and environmental programs. This role is crucial in integrating industry best practices and ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities:
• Safety Oversight: Lead the safety initiatives for our operations and mining sites, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with MSHA inspectors during plant or mine inspections.
• Implement and manage comprehensive safety training programs for employees.
• Investigate accidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage compliance documentation for safety procedures and practices.
• Environmental Management: Ensure environmental protection protocols are in place to reduce hazardous waste exposure.
• Maintain air quality management systems and ensure compliance with permits.
• Prepare and submit required environmental reports and maintain accurate compliance documentation.
• Conduct site inspections alongside state and federal environmental managers.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety, or related field preferred.
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in safety management or regulatory compliance.
• Certifications in Method 9 emissions, CPR/First-Aid Instruction, and other relevant safety areas.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP applications.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
