Job Description
Marvin is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern in Kansas City, KS. The intern will support safety initiatives, ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, conduct audits, provide safety materials, and assist with safety equipment testing. Candidates should be enrolled in a related program, possess communication skills, and be willing to grow in the safety field. Compensation starts at $21.50 per hour based on credit hours.

Job Overview
The Environmental Health and Safety Intern will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating our safety and health initiatives. This position is designed to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free workplace that complies with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
Highlights of your role
• Coordinate Safety & Health activities at a manufacturing site to comply with all applicable regulations, company processes, policies, programs, and procedures to promote a best-in-class safety culture centered on injury prevention
• Champion all Safety & Health activities within the facility by working closely with department leadership, employees, and site management to recognize, generate and implement ideas to continually improve safety performance through a mix of leading and lagging indicator-driven efforts and initiatives
• Assist the team with conducting Safety & Health audits, including documenting findings and producing reports
• Provide information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions
• Assist with the testing and servicing of safety equipment and systems
• Follow up on root cause and corrective actions data entry in incident reporting system
Compensation
Starting at $21.50, based on credit hours
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
• Must be enrolled in a two or four-year program in a related field, such as Environmental Safety and Risk Management
• Excellent communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Aptitude for technology
• Ability to work effectively with management as well as with associates on the plant floor
• Willingness to grow within the Safety & Health space, including seeking additional training and certifications
• Ability to frequently stand and walk around the facility
