Job Description
Princeton NuEnergy is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for their new facility in Chester, SC. The role involves overseeing EHS compliance, developing an Environmental Management System, managing environmental permits, conducting inspections, and promoting safety culture. Princeton NuEnergy (PNE) is a lithium-ion battery direct recycling and critical materials recovery innovator, founded out of Princeton University. • Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
• Conduct facility and operation inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

• Identify EHS training needs and collaborate closely with management and the HR team to ensure all training requirements are effectively met.
• Prepare and conduct training sessions covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures and enforce adherence.
• Draft inspection reports to document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible.
• Maintain records of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure, as required.
• Act as the main contact for environmental, safety, and health affairs with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Safety, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Preferably 8+ years of hands-on experience in the environmental health and safety field.
• Proven track records of EMS development and implementation
• Experience with DOT RCRA training requirements
• In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and policies, including OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI standards.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 and RC14001 management system requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in the technology and equipment utilized in environmental inspections.
