Job Description

Ssm Health is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator in Lomira, WI, to ensure safety and compliance in healthcare environments. As an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our healthcare facility, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care sites, operates safely for staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead collaborative teams to excel in Environmental Health and Safety, Fire and Life Safety, Hazardous Materials and Waste management, and Industrial Hygiene.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, including NFPA, OSHA, DNR, EPA, CMS, and The Joint Commission, as well as state and local agencies.
• Conduct compliance audits, gather and report data, and liaise with external regulatory bodies to ensure optimal results.
• Oversee the Emergency Preparedness program, ensuring our facility meets all JC/CMS emergency readiness requirements.
• Manage emergency preparedness supplies, resources, and planning materials.
• Act as the Safety Officer or Liaison Officer on the Incident Command Team and contribute actively to the Emergency Preparedness Committee.
• Engage with local and regional agencies during emergency preparedness meetings.
• Maintain a vigilant approach to safety in all activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or a related field with equivalent experience.

Experience Required:
• A minimum of one year in a relevant role.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to frequently lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and performing repetitive movements.
• Clear vision and depth perception necessary for distinguishing colors and depths.
• Effective communication skills to relay critical information.
• Proficient use of keyboard for data entry.
• Occasional physical activities, including bending, stooping, and twisting.
• Some heavy lifting (25-50 lbs) may be required.
• Rare climbing activities.
