Job Description
Tetra Tech is hiring an Environmental Field Technician in Midland, TX, to support environmental projects in the Permian Basin. Responsibilities include soil and groundwater sampling, health and safety assessments, and maintaining detailed reports. Candidates should have a high school diploma (BS in relevant fields preferred), experience in environmental consulting, and strong communication skills. The role requires travel for fieldwork, primarily outdoors, and adherence to safety regulations.

Your Role
We are seeking an Environmental Technician to provide support on various environmental projects in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico. This person will be responsible for a wide variety of environmental field activities. Candidate must be highly motivated; customer focused and work well in a team environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel and be on-call as needed.
• Soil sampling activities.
• Groundwater sampling activities.
• Completion of detailed field notes, daily reports, forms and checklists.
• Health and Safety assessments and audits of project sites and teams.
• Quality, Health and Safety oversight of sub contractors.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma required; B.S. in Engineering, Geoscience or Environmental Science degree desirable.
• Experience in environmental consulting or related experience preferred.
• Applicants should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Applicants should possess basic computer skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Computer Skills must include Microsoft Windows Word and Excel.
• Ability to travel for field work primarily in southeastern New Mexico area and some overnight travel may be required. Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, wearing FRC clothing.
• A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
