Position Overview
This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to gain experience in the environmental field while working in a highly labor-intensive environment.


Environmental Field Technicians spend significant time working in confined spaces, around petroleum vapors, and outdoors in all weather conditions.


A day in the life can range from using electromagnetic locators or ground penetrating radar to locate underground tanks, to soil, water, and air vapor sampling, excavation, crawlspace work, and precision hand digging.


This is not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination. The right fit will have a passion for the environment and enjoy the construction aspect of this vital occupation.


Key Responsibilities


Perform soil and groundwater sampling.
Conduct soil gas sampling.
Assist with hazardous waste cleanup.
Work with soil vapor extraction systems.
Perform labor-intensive environmental construction work.
Assist with excavation, crawlspace work, and precision hand digging.
Operate field equipment and maintain OSHA safety standards.
Ensure compliance with Department of Environmental Quality regulations.
Qualifications


High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related discipline is REQUIRED.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and OSHA safety protocols.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility to work in various environmental conditions.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
