Job Summary


This seasonal Crew Leader position is part of the Coastal Waterbird Program, responsible for supervising and training staff and volunteers in conducting research, monitoring, management, and protection of coastal birds and natural resources.

The ideal candidate will have a background in wildlife management, biology, or a related field, with experience in field research, data collection, and supervision.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and train field crew in conducting research, monitoring, and management activities.
• Collect and manage biological data on coastal waterbirds, including nesting, foraging, and migrating species.
• Contribute to achieving program goals through coordination with sanctuary-based staff and other stakeholders.
• Manage databases, create online maps, and compile data for state plover, tern, and oystercatcher census forms.
• Interact with beachgoers, provide information on regulations and beach ecology, and participate in outreach initiatives.
• Supervise and conduct research on special projects as directed.
Requirements


To succeed in this role, you should have:
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology, ecology, or environmental science.
• Two to three years of experience in field research, data collection, and supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and schedule.
• Access to a vehicle for daily driving between sites.
