Grupo Tradebe is hiring an Environmental Field Chemist in Durham, KS, focusing on the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. The Opportunity
Are you ready to make a difference in the environmental services industry? Tradebe is seeking a Field Chemist to join our team! In this role, you'll be at the forefront of environmental safety, taking charge of identifying, packaging, and labelling hazardous waste for secure transportation and disposal in the Durham, NC area. What will you do?
• Accurately classify, identify, package, and label hazardous waste for transport and disposal.
• Process regulatory paperwork to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and internal protocols.
• Assist with unpacking hazardous materials at our plant, as needed.
• Sample container contents to determine proper handling.
• Operate a 26-foot long box truck once a CDL Class B license is obtained (if you do not currently possess one).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience without a degree will also be considered.
• A basic knowledge of or desire to learn hazardous waste field is preferred
• Experience in lab packing and knowledge of (or interest in learning) hazardous waste classification is strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass an OSHA/DOT physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
• Possession of a CDL-B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is strongly preferred but not required. If you do not possess one, we will assist you in obtaining one while in this position.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crawl, lift, reach, push, and pull. Must be able to wear a full-face respirator
