Job Description

JARBO Employment Group is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern in Wichita, KS. The role involves conducting environmental investigations, collecting groundwater and soil samples, overseeing remediation projects, and maintaining gas collection systems. Interns will participate in safety meetings and maintain detailed logs of field activities. The position requires travel with overnight stays and is classified as an internship.
• Perform various duties for environmental investigative and remediation projects following standard protocols
• Groundwater sample collection
• Inspection and maintenance of groundwater remediation systems
• Soil sample collection
• Oversee soil excavation projects
• Properly operate and maintain gas collection system on a timely and cost-effective basis in order to achieve minimum performance standards
• Routine wellfield balancing and maintenance
• Routine blower / flare operations
• Condensate management system operations and maintenance
• Surface emissions monitoring
• Landfill construction quality assurance
• Liner and final cover construction
• Gas collection systems
• Participate in Health and Safety regular meetings and ensure that Health and Safety standards are followed by on-site staff and sub-contractors.
• Develop and maintain detailed daily field log/notes using written or computer/electronic methods.
• Reports/consults with supervisor (and in some instances client) regarding field conditions and test results.
• Travel with overnight stays
