Environmental Engineer

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a self-motivated Civil Engineer in Honolulu, HI, with 0-2+ years of experience in wastewater, water reuse, infrastructure, and stormwater projects. Responsibilities include project management, technical evaluations, and fieldwork. A Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required, along with good technical and communication skills. Our Hawaii offices have an opening for a self-motivated Civil Engineer with 0-2+ years of experience to work on projects related to wastewater, water reuse, infrastructure, and stormwater. Detailed Description



Execute planning, design, and engineering services project work involving wastewater and water treatment, stormwater, infrastructure, and water reuse.Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design-related activities.Perform project management, deputy project management, or task manager rolesPerform engineering work on a variety of environmental engineering projects.Perform calculations and prepare technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.Conduct field work as necessary for various projects.Communicate and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers).Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget.Adhere to Brown and Caldwell’s QA/QC process.

Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under deadlinesBachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field requiredRelated coursework or internship experience required; 2+ years of professional experience preferredDesire to work on projects related to wastewater, water resources, water reuse, infrastructure, and stormwaterFE (or ability to obtain in the near future) preferredGood technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and conceptsExcellent technical writing and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and on large coordinated teamsAbility to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing prioritiesAbility and willingness to perform fieldwork at various sitesKnowledge of standard software including MS Office, Outlook, AutoCAD, GIS, and BluebeamStrong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Salary: $64,000 - $87,000
