Basic Job Functions:

The environmental engineer is responsible for leading the safety and environmental compliance at the division. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental requirements; implementation and management of environmental programs (air, water, waste) including permitting and reporting; education and training of the team; engaging with the plant wide team for solutions to problems and promote continual improvement; and participate in community outreach initiatives. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years' experience in environmental compliance, permitting and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related field.

• Project Management - Leverage knowledge to provide guidance and leadership to project teams and establish project steps, milestones, and timetables including analyzing feasibility, costs, and compatibility with existing programs and systems.

Preferences:
• Experience with ISO 14001 or related management system.
• Experience related to manufacturing or industrial environment.
