Job Description

SPIN Global is seeking an Environmental Engineer in Raleigh, NC, to conduct environmental reviews and assessments for disaster-affected areas, ensuring compliance with FEMA regulations. Responsibilities include preparing reports, collaborating with teams, and managing documentation. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5 years of experience, and knowledge of environmental regulations. This is a full-time onsite position.
SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬Responsibilities
• Conduct environmental reviews and impact assessments for disaster-affected areas in compliance with FEMA and other regulatory standards.
• Integrate environmental considerations into disaster recovery and resilience planning.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support compliance with environmental regulations, including NEPA and FEMA’s Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) review.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement environmentally sustainable recovery strategies.
• Utilize FEMA’s Grants Portal to manage environmental compliance documentation.
• Stay updated with FEMA policies, regulations, and training requirements.

Requirements
• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, Historic Preservation, Archeology, Regional Planning, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
• IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
• IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
• IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
• IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, planning principles, and sustainability practices.
• Proficiency in GIS and other tools used for environmental planning and analysis.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Work onsite in North Carolina.
• EOD Required.
