Genie Matthews & Associates is seeking an Environmental Engineer in Myrtle Beach, SC, to lead compliance and sustainability initiatives at a chemical manufacturing site. About the Role
We’re looking for an Environmental Engineer to lead compliance, risk management, and sustainability initiatives at our specialty chemical manufacturing site. This role requires a strong foundation in Clean Air Act (CAA) MON – NESHAP, Waste Management (RCRA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and emissions calculations.
Responsibilities:
✅ Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Develop and maintain Company Environmental System (CES) policies, ensuring full compliance with Title V, MON – NESHAP, RCRA, and NPDES regulations.
✅ Environmental Risk & CAPA Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) strategies.
✅ Air, Water & Waste Management: Oversee VOC/HAP emissions calculations, wastewater treatment compliance (BOD/COD), and hazardous waste regulations.
✅ Auditing & Incident Investigation: Conduct internal audits, facilitate external environmental audits, and lead incident investigations with data-driven root cause analysis.
✅ New Product Compliance: Collaborate on New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure environmental compliance from development to production.
✅ Training & Process Improvement: Develop training programs to ensure regulatory adherence and continuous improvement across environmental programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing environmental compliance.
- Strong expertise in MON – NESHAP regulations, RCRA, CWA, and emissions calculations.
- Experience with CES system administration, Title V reporting, and auditing.
- Certified Environmental Scientist (CES) preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $99,450.00 - $119,881.00 per year
