Maine Audubon is seeking an Environmental Educator / Camp Manager to lead environmental education and youth camp programs at the Fields Pond Audubon Center in Holden, ME. The role involves developing inclusive education programs, managing nature camp operations, and mentoring staff. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader committed to fostering community engagement and providing a high-quality experience for campers and families.
Maine Audubon is hiring an experienced and dynamic leader to manage our growing environmental education and youth camp programs at our Fields Pond Audubon Center (FPAC). Since 1843, Maine Audubon has worked to conserve Maine wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging people in education, conservation, and action. The Fields Pond Audubon Center has hosted a nature center and store, school programs, nature tours, community science, interpretation, and other environmental education and community engagement programs in the greater Bangor area for more than 25 years.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced educator and leader who is enthusiastic about working with youth, mentoring seasonal staff, developing nature-based education programs, and fostering an inclusive community. This Environmental Educator / Camp Manager position will be supervised by the Director of Northern Programs and Operations, and is focused on our camp and youth environmental education programs at our Fields Pond Center and in the greater Bangor region.

During the school year, this position coordinates and supports youth and family programs across all program areas. As the Nature Camp Manager this position also coordinates the development and implementation of our FPAC vacation and summer day camp programs. This position is responsible for directing a high-quality science and nature camp experience for children and managing camp operations at our FPAC location.

Essential Duties
• Develop and implement inclusive environmental education programs that support children and families in our community to engage with Maine Audubon’s mission.
• Manage the planning and implementation of nature camp programs.
• Coordinate staff, volunteers, and interns involved with nature camp programs.
• Support program goals through excellent communication and creativity.
• Maintain positive relationships with campers, students, parents and fellow staff.
• Model safe and responsible behavior during outdoor activities.
• Maintain educational program equipment and physical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other Maine Audubon staff to achieve programmatic goals.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
