The State of Pennsylvania is seeking an Environmental Education Specialist for Keystone State Park. This full-time, seasonal role involves creating and delivering educational programs on environmental awareness and outdoor recreation. Responsibilities include organizing guided walks, tours, and field learning activities. Applicants need a relevant bachelor's degree and must work weekends and holidays. The position does not offer telework options.

About the Position

This role involves engaging in professional activities focused on creating and delivering educational programs related to environmental awareness, interpretation, and outdoor recreational activities at Keystone State Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
Description of Work

As an Environmental Education Specialist, you will oversee every aspect of environmental education, recreation, and interpretive programs and activities at Keystone State Park. You will be responsible for strategizing, creating, organizing, and delivering environmental and historical education, recreation programming, and interpretive programs and activities for various visitor groups.
• Guided walks
• Audio-visual presentations
• Tours
• Outdoor recreation programs
• Field learning activities

These programs may consist of state-developed themes centered on natural history, historic and cultural events, and environmental concerns.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
• Full-time, seasonal employment without benefits
• Shift hours and days vary due to operational need
• Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
• No telework option
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation; or an equivalent combination of experience and training is required.
• Willingness to work weekends and evenings
• Willingness to wear a prescribed uniform

A valid driver's license which is not under suspension and Pennsylvania residency are also required.
