Rural Confluence Initiative
The Rural Confluence initiative is a collaborative effort to improve the resilience of rural communities affected by climate change. This initiative brings together researchers, educators, and extension specialists from across the country to share knowledge, resources, and expertise. As part of this role, you will contribute to the Rural Confluence initiative by conducting research on the economic impacts of climate change on rural communities, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and engaging with rural community leaders, agricultural producers, and OSU Extension staff. You will also have opportunities to work on policy-relevant research projects, develop innovative solutions to real-world problems, and participate in national conferences and workshops.
Your Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must hold a Ph.D. in agricultural economics, environmental/resource economics, or a similar field. You should possess strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including business owners, community leaders, and residents. You must have the ability and desire to engage in rural community outreach activities, such as assessing needs, conducting interviews/focus groups, and translating research findings to broad audiences.
