Geospatial Machine Learning Scientist

Position Summary

We are seeking a mid-level Geospatial Machine Learning Scientist to join our innovative team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in machine learning and geospatial analytics to support environmental remediation and consulting projects. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience with satellite imagery, remote sensing, and geospatial data modeling, and a strong foundation in data science techniques. Your work will directly support decision-making and enhance the quality of environmental outcomes across the company.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement machine learning models for geospatial data analysis
• Process and analyze satellite imagery and other geospatial data sources
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geospatial insights into environmental and engineering projects
• Prepare and present technical reports, research summaries, and project updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Stay current on emerging tools and trends in geospatial AI and data science
• Serve as an internal resource and occasional subject matter expert on geospatial data applications
• Participate in occasional travel to company offices for collaboration and team meetings

What You Bring
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geoscience, Data Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in machine learning and geospatial data analytics
• Proficiency in Python (preferred), R, SQL, or similar programming languages
• Hands-on experience with geospatial tools and libraries such as GDAL, QGIS, NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for geospatial data processing
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), including foundation models and transfer learning
• Strong statistical and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Comfortable working independently in a remote-first, collaborative environment
• Willingness to travel occasionally to company offices or field sites
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
