Job Description

The Government of Alberta is seeking an Environmental Data Analyst for the Oil Sands Monitoring Program in Calgary, AB. The role involves evaluating air quality indicators, predicting environmental changes, and ensuring effective monitoring of air quality. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in atmospheric sciences. This is a full-time position, not remote.
Program Overview

The Oil Sands Monitoring (OSM) Program evaluates the impacts of oil sands development on the environment. This role supports the program by leading the evaluation of air and atmospheric data.

Key Tasks
">
• Evaluate air quality indicators and generate reporting products.
• Predict environmental change against ecological benchmarks.
• Ensure the long-term air quality and deposition monitoring program is delivered safely and effectively.
• Contribute to scientifically credible environmental data evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
">
• A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Environment, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of work experience in atmospheric and air monitoring sciences.
• Demonstrated expertise in atmospheric and air monitoring sciences.
• Demonstrated record of primary and collaboratively authored publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
