Position: Environmental Consulting Associate I

RS&H is seeking an Environmental Consulting Associate I to join our Atlanta, GA team.

This role involves supporting the Environmental Stewardship and Resiliency (ESR) Service Group, providing environmental stewardship, sustainability, resilience planning, permitting, and consulting services to aviation and other industry clients nationwide. The ESR group supports clients operating airports, transportation corridors, DoD installations, local governments, and commercial facilities.

The individual will assist project managers in identifying and resolving environmental compliance challenges related to infrastructure projects and ongoing operations. Responsibilities include supporting sustainability and resilience projects such as sustainability plans, greenhouse gas inventories, climate action plans, and long-term resiliency planning. Tasks involve data collection, organization, synthesis, interpretation, report writing, and developing figures and data tables.

This entry-level position provides support for ESR activities and project delivery firm-wide. The ideal candidate has an interest in aviation and environmental compliance, including air, water, stormwater, wetlands, spill prevention, fuel management, hazardous materials, greenhouse gases, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and data management. Interest in developing proactive environmental programs and plans is also desired.

Requirements:
• Accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or related field
• Interest in preparing regulatory documents to meet federal and state environmental laws, regulations, and FAA orders; NEPA documentation experience for airports is a plus
• Interest in energy management, audits, and commissioning is a plus
• Interest in third-party certification programs (e.g., LEED, Green Globes, Envision) is a plus
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meeting client deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of airport operations and environmental considerations
• Professional certification or registration (e.g., CEP, ENV SP, SEP, CE, PE, PG) within 4 years, if applicable

Salary range in Colorado: $65,205 to $76,218, commensurate with experience.
