Talisman Advisory Partners is seeking an Environmental Consultant specializing in air quality, GHG emissions, and noise assessments in California. The role involves conducting impact analyses, utilizing modeling tools, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with CEQA and NEPA regulations. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 3+ years of experience. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. This position is flexible and allows for remote work.
Are you passionate about environmental impact and regulatory compliance? Our client, a respected environmental consulting firm, is looking for an Environmental Consultant with expertise in air quality, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and noise assessments. This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact projects across sectors like transportation, utilities, commercial development, and public infrastructure while ensuring compliance with CEQA and NEPA regulations.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
• Conduct air quality impact analyses, including criteria air pollutant emissions, air toxics, and health risk assessments, using modeling tools such as CalEEMod and EMFAC.
• Perform greenhouse gas emissions analysis for projects' construction and operational phases, including consistency assessments with climate action plans.
• Utilize noise modeling software, such as the Federal Highway Administration Traffic Noise Model (TNM), Roadway Construction Noise Model (RCNM), and CadnaA, to assess stationary and mobile noise sources.
• Conduct ambient noise measurements using ANSI Type II sound level meters.
• Research and interpret relevant regulations, local ordinances, and planning policies to determine applicable compliance standards.
• Prepare technical reports and environmental impact sections in accordance with CEQA and NEPA guidelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate findings into broader environmental documentation.

Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, engineering, planning, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience (5+ preferred) in air quality, GHG emissions, and/or noise impact assessments under CEQA/NEPA.
• Strong understanding of California and federal environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in modeling tools like CalEEMod, EMFAC, AERMOD, and HARP for air quality and GHG analysis.
• Experience with noise monitoring and modeling software.
• Excellent writing and communication skills – ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via Teams or in-person
