Job Description

The GREAT BASIN INSTITUTE is hiring an Environmental Conservation Professional in Reno, NV. Responsibilities include delineating timber sale unit boundaries using GPS, identifying tree species, and conducting fieldwork for timber marking and cruising. Job Description
• Timber Sale Unit Boundary Delineation: Use GPS technology to identify and mark unit boundaries.
• Tree Species Identification: Accurately identify tree species using various methods.
• Timber Marking and Cruising: Conduct fieldwork to determine timber values and develop silvicultural prescriptions.

In addition to these tasks, you will also collect data on stand examination, general silviculture, hydrology, heritage, wildlife, and recreation. You will use standard instruments, direct measurements, and observations to gather information.
