Jungheinrich UK Ltd is seeking an Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Specialist to ensure regulatory adherence and drive sustainability initiatives. The role involves managing compliance reporting, analyzing sustainability data, and engaging with stakeholders. Candidates should have experience in environmental compliance, a relevant degree, and strong analytical skills. The position is based in Leeds, UK, ideally within commuting distance of offices in Milton Keynes or Warrington, and involves some international collaboration.
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Specialist

Location: UK (with international collaboration) – Ideally within a commutable distance from one of our offices in Milton Keynes or Warrington.

Are you passionate about environmental compliance and sustainability? Jungheinrich UK & Jungheinrich AG are looking for an Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Specialist to ensure regulatory adherence, drive environmental initiatives, and manage compliance reporting across our UK and global operations.

Your Role:

As an Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Specialist, you will:

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting – Ensure full compliance with UK and EU environmental regulations, including REACH, RoHS, Battery Regulations, and ISO standards. Prepare environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Environmental Data Management – Collect, analyse, and manage sustainability data, oversee compliance software (SAP Product & REACH Compliance), and contribute to carbon footprint calculations.

Legislative Monitoring & Risk Assessment – Stay ahead of regulatory changes, assess environmental risks, and support the implementation of best practices to mitigate compliance risks.

Sustainability & Compliance Strategies – Support the development of environmental strategies that align with legal requirements and corporate sustainability goals. Track progress, implement improvement initiatives, and assist in meeting carbon reduction targets.

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement – Work closely with internal teams, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and external auditors to ensure compliance across the supply chain. Provide training and guidance on evolving environmental legislation.

Research & Innovation – Monitor emerging environmental laws, industry standards, and sustainability trends to drive continuous improvement in regulatory compliance and corporate sustainability efforts.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience & Background – Some experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or regulatory administration, with a strong interest in progressing into an advisory role.

Educational Background – A degree in environmental science, sustainability, regulatory affairs, business administration, engineering, or a related field.

Technical Knowledge – Familiarity with environmental legislation, compliance frameworks, and sustainability standards, such as GHG Protocol, Battery Regulations, REACH, RoHS, ISO 14001, 50001, 14040, 14067.

Analytical & Data Skills – Experience with data collection, compliance reporting, and environmental performance tracking. Knowledge of SAP or similar compliance software is a plus.

Communication & Collaboration – Strong ability to engage stakeholders, deliver training, and communicate technical regulatory requirements effectively.

Technical Proficiency – Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.

Language Skills – Fluent in English (written & spoken). German language skills would be an advantage.

Commitment to Environmental Compliance – A deep understanding of environmental regulations and a passion for sustainability.
