Leidos is seeking an Environmental Compliance Analyst (NEPA Specialist) to join our team!
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Western Service Area (WSA), Operations Support Group, ensuring compliance with an extensive array of federal, state, and local laws and regulations through comprehensive evaluations, analyses, and meticulous reviews of documentation. Your expertise in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) will be vital in assessing federal actions impacting the National Airspace System (NAS).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support between Airports, Air Traffic facilities, and the FAA on environmental issues related to proposed actions triggering NEPA application.
• Evaluate potential environmental impacts of proposed changes in air traffic routing or flight paths, with a strong focus on noise impacts.
• Offer SME support for the development of various levels of environmental documentation, including Categorical Exclusions (CatEx), Environmental Assessments (EA), or Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for FAA-initiated actions.
• Coordinate and draft written responses regarding environmental analyses for requests related to traffic routing or flight path modifications.
• Facilitate the finalization of NEPA documents such as CatEx, EA, or EIS, along with associated Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI) or Records of Decision (ROD) for applicable projects.
Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience in writing or reviewing NEPA documents, including Categorical Exclusions (CATEX), Environmental Assessments (EA), and/or Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).
• Thorough understanding of all NEPA impact categories.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, and MS PowerPoint.
• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability.
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to simplify complex data into clear, concise documents for a non-technical audience.
• Experience with FAA or aviation programs.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills for independent tasks.
• Familiarity with database management, KSN websites, and advanced MS Excel.
• Desireable attributes include excellent presentation skills, proactive teamwork, strong written and oral communication capabilities, and proficiency in MS Office software.
Compensation Information: The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $95,000, with flexibility based on relevant experience. Factors influencing the offer may include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

This position is based in Des Moines, WA. There is a temporary potential for 10% telework with manager/customer approval, but you must be able to work onsite in Des Moines, WA once required to return to the office full-time. Some travel (estimated at 10%) may also be necessary.
