About the position

The Environmental Manager at Ash Grove Cement is responsible for administering the plant's environmental program in compliance with federal and state laws. This role focuses on ensuring ongoing environmental compliance, implementing policies, and fostering best practices across operations. The manager will also develop strategies to meet environmental targets and monitor performance outcomes.

Responsibilities
• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

• Evaluate site environmental performance and identify corrective actions through audits.

• Serve as the corporate contact with regulatory and community stakeholders regarding environmental matters.

• Participate in projects involving environmental issues and accompany inspectors during inspections.
,
• Ensure compliance with all environmental permits and applicable laws and regulations.
,
• Assist regulatory agencies by providing necessary information and assistance.
,
• Complete, administer, and assist in the preparation of various air quality reports and renewals.
,
• Contract with training consultants and purchase training media cost-effectively.
,
• Coordinate and supervise stack testing activities and review/approve all stack testing reports.
,
• Complete, administer, and assist with various surveys and questionnaires from internal and external sources.
,
• Perform audits of monitoring systems and maintain/administer changes.
,
• Work with the Waste Fuels Manager to provide daily coverage of essential functions.

• Coordinate training efforts and goals with the Waste Fuels Manager and Manager of Environmental Affairs.

• Obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications for plant environmental compliance.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in environmental resource management or related field required.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the environmental field is required.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the cement, mining, or related industry preferred.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience working with regulatory agencies preferred.

• Demonstrated written communication skills.
