Environmental and NEPA Project Manager

Volkert Inc is seeking an experienced Environmental and NEPA Project Manager in Mobile, AL, with at least 5 years of NEPA planning experience. Responsibilities include preparing NEPA studies, coordinating project teams, conducting site visits, and managing project budgets and schedules. A B.S. or M.S. in a related field is required. We are currently searching for an experienced Environmental and NEPA Manager to support our Gulf located in Alabama.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have at minimum 5 years' experience in transportation/NEPA planning.

What you’ll be doing:
• Prepare NEPA studies for federally funded projects, including Categorical Exclusions (CE), Environmental Assessments (EA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for various transportation project types and sizes
• Coordinate with internal project teams
• Perform site visits for projects as required
• Lead public involvement efforts for environmental projects
• Manage projects to achieve budget, schedule, and quality requirements
• Assist in business development for environmental projects

What you need to have:
• B.S. or M.S. in Planning, Environmental Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in transportation/NEPA planning required
• GIS experience is a plus
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative team skills are required
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver’s license
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
