About the position

Enbridge Gas Ohio is seeking an Environment Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our gas pipeline projects comply with environmental regulations. The Environment Specialist will conduct thorough reviews of proposed gas pipeline projects to determine the necessary environmental permitting requirements. This position will primarily focus on the construction of regulated gas pipelines and renewable gas infrastructure, although it may also involve additional responsibilities as needed. In this role, you will coordinate and ensure that company programs and projects adhere to federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You will promote our corporate environmental policy by educating and assisting employees in finding innovative ways to maintain operational environmental compliance. Your responsibilities will include coordinating environmental permitting activities for company facilities, developing and conducting environmental compliance training, and inspecting operations and construction procedures to provide advice on compliance. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental requirements as prescribed by laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures. This includes providing regulatory interpretations for new and existing environmental regulations, developing compliance plans for implementing regulatory changes, and preparing reports and registration information for regulatory agencies. Additionally, you will conduct analyses, prepare position papers, and create compliance manuals on regulatory issues and programs, utilizing electronic databases to monitor company compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements
• A related Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of directly related experience.

• Good working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations specific to the work location.

• Good working knowledge of environmental operating permits and regulations specific to the work site.

• Strong logic and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternatives.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interface effectively with internal stakeholders.

• Ability to give full attention to others and ask questions for clarification.
