Environment Health Safety and Sustainability Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our organization's efforts in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs that ensure compliance with regulations and promote a culture of safety. This role requires strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of occupational health standards, and the ability to effectively communicate safety protocols across all levels of the organization.

Duties
• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular training sessions on safety practices, emergency response, CPR, first aid, and occupational health standards.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations set forth by the EPA and other governing bodies.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure adherence to workers' compensation laws.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed reports on EHS performance metrics, incidents, and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with various departments to foster a proactive safety culture within the organization.
• Facilitate investigations of accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to environmental health and safety.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Proven experience in EHS management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation law and occupational health standards.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred; additional certifications in EHS-related fields are a plus.
• Ability to develop training programs tailored to various audiences within the organization.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes is beneficial for understanding workplace hazards.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in identifying risks and implementing solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
