NYCO America is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager in Newnan, GA. The role involves developing and overseeing safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting audits, managing hazardous waste, and training staff. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5-10 years of experience in the chemical industry. Certifications like CSP or CIH are preferred. This is a full-time position.
Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager

FLSA: Salaried, Exempt

Reports To: Regional Director of Operations







Purpose The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager will develop, implement and oversee safety/environmental programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and any other Local, State and Federal regulations, leading audits, managing hazardous waste/emissions, investigating incidents, training staff, and fostering a strong safety culture to prevent injuries and environmental harm to ensure an environmentally responsible operating chemical site.



Roles & Responsibilities

Ensures adherence to OSHA, EPA (RCRA, Clean Air/Water), TSCA, Responsible Care and local laws; manages permits, reporting and agency interactions.Create/implement site EHS policies, emergency response plans, chemical management (SDS), and contractor safety programs. Conducts audits, inspections, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments, implement corrective/preventative actions.Inspects the facility to identify safety, health and environmental risks.Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.Lead root cause analyses for accidents/near misses, implementing controls to prevent recurrence.Develop/deliver safety training (new hires, annual, specific hazards); promote safety leadership and employee engagement.Manage the site’s Responsible Care program and related processes.Oversee hazardous waste, air, emissions, water management, and sustainability efforts.Track and report key metrics (i.e., TRIR, DART, near misses) and metrics for internal/external use.Perform any other duties assigned by management.


Preferred Job Requirements:




Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or Environmental Science is required.

Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in an environmental role within the essential chemical industry, preferably including at least 10 years in a US-based chemical operations role.

CSP, CIH or CHMM certifications are preferred but not required.Practical experience handling and interacting with US Federal & State authorities for chemical EHS activities and operations performance to meet permits and regulations.Knowledge and experience managing site air, effluent and discharge streams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
