Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and credentialed Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to serve as the Owner’s Representative for a major airport redevelopment project at Memphis International Airport. In this high-visibility role, you will represent the Airport Authority and oversee the General Contractor and their subcontractors to ensure all construction activities align with project goals and safety standards.

This is a long-term multi-year opportunity with no defined project end date. Ideal candidates will bring deep experience in commercial construction and a proven track record of managing safety in complex, active work environments. Preferably within operational airports or similarly sensitive sites.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and enforce Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance across the project site.
• Perform and document daily EHS inspections.
• Deliver site-specific safety orientations and training.
• Assist in coordinating high-risk activities, including crane operations.
• Participate in Daily Hazard Analysis and support implementation.
• Investigate incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project leadership to drive a culture of safety and injury prevention.
• Track and analyze safety data to identify trends and implement improvements.
• Review contractor EHS plans and ensure plan adherence across all trades.
• Verify craft worker training and certifications are current and task-appropriate.
• Lead and partner with contractor safety representatives and project safety teams.
• Serve as the key liaison to the client’s risk management and safety teams.
• Facilitate and deliver EHS training sessions.
• Support and promote a proactive safety recognition and reward program.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 10+ years of EHS commercial construction experience (required)
• Experience working on airport expansion or refurbishment projects strongly preferred
• OSHA 510/500 required; CHST required
• Additional credentials (ASP, GSP, CSP, STSC) a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting tools
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred
