Quanex is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for its St. Cloud, MN location. The role involves managing EHS programs across multiple facilities, promoting safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading incident investigations. The successful candidate will develop safety metrics, assist with environmental permits, and provide training and support to plant teams. Quanex is looking for an EHS Manager to join our team located in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing environmental, health and safety programs, policies, and procedures for assigned region. The regional territory for this role covers facilities in St Cloud, MN; Foreston, MN; Luck, WI; Rice Lake, WI; with one direct report in Rice Lake. In this role, the successful candidate will be a leader that promotes safety as a core value and partners with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What’s attractive about the EHS Manager position?
• Ability to promote and drive continuous improvement of environmental, safety and health systems that result in the reduction of injuries and assures regulatory compliance

What Success Looks Like:
• Establish/drive key safety metrics and KPI’s for the region, in conjunction with the company strategy and report these metrics monthly.
• Collaborate with plant personnel in renewing and revising environmental permits as needed for those plants in their region. Assist with annual permit reports and renewals.
• Review EHS concerns and safety committee recommendations & audits; ensures closure of identified issues through the plant management team.
• Serve as the technical resource for incident investigation and causal factor/root cause analysis; lead investigations and work with plant leadership to implement an action plan following root cause analysis.
• In partnership with organizational leaders, proactively identifies safety trends and provides recommendations to positively impact safety culture.
• Develop requests for proposals and contracts for health and safety assessments and management services, manages and oversees contract performance.
• Assist plants with the maintenance of their Emergency Action Plans and Crisis Management Plans.
• Creates and updates EHS policies and supports cross-functional teams with policy implementation.
• Develop and deploy standard safe work practices and procedures as appropriate.
• Proactively identify facility EHS hazards and risks then develop plans to eliminate or control.
• Educate, train, and provide support to plants in the development and execution of consistent safety and environmental management programs.
• Serve as internal auditor, or lead auditor, for Quanex EHS Corporate Audit Team.
• Lead corporate EHS audit and inspection processes and open issues tracking.
• Review and audit regulatory records to ensure they are properly retained and that reports and notifications are completed on a timely basis.
• Regularly audit and review environmental sampling, recordkeeping, reporting and testing for special waste, non- hazardous waste, hazardous waste, wastewater, storm water, drinking water and machine fluids, floor cleaners and all environmental permits.
• Monitor regulatory arena for new/changing regulations and rulemaking; recommend adjustments to programs/procedures accordingly.
• Lead risk identification programs; act as a technical resource for the sharing of regulatory requirements and best practices.

Your Credentials:
• Ideally have credentials / education in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, industrial engineering or related discipline.
• Ideally possess 5 years of experience in a similar safety, environmental or combined role.
• Manufacturing experience.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000 with bonus potential.
